My little sister
by Nika Bee inmy little sister is 14 years younger than me.
she was always special to me, i took care of her, when my mother was working, i carried her around, i comforted her.
we are very similar in our interests for music and literature.. she is in secondary school, an unbaptised publisher.. since i study in the us, we only see each other about once a year.

Leaving a church in Germany?
by Nika Bee ini have a technical/bureaucratical question for anyone in germany who has experience with this.. the background is, i got baptised as a jw as a teenager in germany, then moved to the us, where i daed.. from my research on the internet, i seem to understand, that when you get baptised in germany, they inform the appropriate authority depending on the state you live in, in bavaria this would be the "standesamt".
is that correct?
or does one have to do this by oneself?

For those of you who read/understand German
by Nika Bee inthere was a documentary about jehovahs witnesses (in austria) on the austrian tv channel orf2.
http://tvthek.orf.at/programs/4204899-kreuz---quer/episodes/5322965-kreuz-und-quer.
for some reason i can't hear the sound, just read the subtitles.. i am watching it at the moment, so i cannot say much yet, but might post something later or tomorrow..

Talked to an elder
by Nika Bee ini am at home now, my family knows that i am out and it's somewhat ok.. during the time i spent here, i had the interesting pleasure of talking to an elder who i've known since childhood.
just for the background, he always regretted not going to university and there where also issues with military service.
but this discussion was kind of, well, interesting.

Being alive
by Nika Bee inhello, i am (almost) new here, and in the beginning i didn't really think that i would ever post something here.
but then.... yesterday i had a little experience, nothing important , people who haven't been in the organisation have probably a hard time to understand why it's even worth talking (writing) about.
but i though if there are people who can relate to it, they are here, and if not this post will just disappear in the internet and no harm was done.. i was walking my friends' dogs in the evening sun, not thinking about anything.

Stupid question from a non-native speaker
by Nika Bee inhello i am relatively new here, and i apologise for my english in advance.. this is a very irrelevant and probably very stupid question: what does the word "borg" mean, or where does it come from?
i understand it's used for the organisation, but i don't get why.. also, where does "kool aid" come from?.
thanks and sorry again!.
